If you are just starting out in WordPress website creation or are looking for a versatile and high-quality theme, you have probably heard of Kadence Theme, I have written about it myself several times in my blog. Kadence has gained popularity among newcomers and experts for its outstanding performance, user-friendly interface, and ability to be tailored to specific needs. However, you might be unsure which option to pick between Kadence Theme Free and Kadence Pro. In this article, I will not go into detail about all the advanced features of Kadence Pro as they are described in detail here on the official Kadence website, but I will just walk you through some of the most important features of the Pro version that you should probably consider upgrading your site to a fully professional level of functionality.
A step back, what is kadence theme?
First, a quick overview for those who are new to Kadence. Kadence is a WordPress theme known for its speed, clean code, and versatility. It’s designed to be easy for beginners but powerful enough for experienced developers, thanks to its extensive customization options and performance-focused design. The free version of Kadence is one of the best free themes on WordPress, offering essential design tools to create beautiful websites. But for those who want a little more control, flexibility, and unique features, Kadence Pro is the next step up.
When is it a good idea to switch to Kadence WP Pro?
Kadence’s free version is great – but let’s be real, sometimes it leaves you wishing for just a little more. If you’re looking to unlock those extra features that take your site to the next level, Kadence Pro might just be your new best friend. Some of these most important Kadence Pro theme features are listed below. Currently the Kadence Pro price is $79/year (excluding seasonal discounts like Black Friday or others) and you could take advantage of this to elevate your website.
Newsletter integration
Premise: the free versions of the Kadence theme and Kadence Blocks have among their pattern items also the newsletter form.
It can be customized according to your needs by adding custom fields and changing colors and fonts etc, but they do not yet allow you to link this form to the majority of newsletter services such as ConvertKit etc.
This means that, in order for your website visitors to be subscribed to your newsletter after entering their email in the form, you will necessarily need Kadence Pro.
The free version of Kadence, however, allows integration with MailerLite while Mailchimp can be integrated with the Mailchimp for WordPress plugin using its pattern item directly and not that of Kadence’s Form (Adv).
Hooked Elements to show custom content everywhere
Ever wished your website could read the room and show exactly what your visitors need when they need it? With Kadence Pro’s Hooked Elements, you’re basically the maestro of engagement! Add blocks or page builder content anywhere on your site, sprinkle it conditionally, or set it to vanish at just the right moment—like magic (but better). Want to display something in a super-specific location? Done. Show it only to your VIP users? Easy. Replace your header, footer, or even jazz up dropdown backgrounds? Oh, you fancy now! And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: crafting a custom 404 page so sleek, your users might just get lost on purpose. All this power, and yes, even an expiration date for content—because nothing kills the vibe like outdated promotions.
Add more features to your menu
Your menu deserves a glow-up, doesn’t it? With Kadence Pro, it’s not just a menu—it’s an experience! Imagine adding a little pizzazz with icons in your Menu Item labels. Or how about multi-column dropdowns that organize your content like a pro—no more “Where do I click?” moments for your visitors! Want to go further? Custom content for dropdowns lets you sneak in that extra flair (think images, text, or even a call-to-action) while custom backgrounds ensure your dropdowns don’t just look good—they steal the show. Trust me, your visitors will thank you.
WooCommerce add-on to upgrade your shop
The beauty of Kadence Pro is that it allows a WooCommerce shop to take that step forward needed to reach a higher level of professionalism.
Specifically, the most important aspect of this Kadence Pro addon is that you can first of all create a beautiful custom shop page built with blocks or page builder to show your visitors the information that you consider most important in addition to the products of your shop.
Among the secondary functions: you can also show Shop Toggle Widget Area, Auto Open Side Cart when product added and Ajax Add to cart for single product page.
Extra: the Kadence plugins I find most captivating
It is the Builder that allows you to create even more innovative designs thanks to, for example, advanced sliders, custom icons, product carousels and much more.
I love this plugin for WooCommerce because it allows us to have total control of our store: custom labels, affiliate product options, custom global tabs, advanced reviews and gallery styles and much more.
It’s a popup builder for building attention-grabbing sale banners, slide-in notifications, cookie consent notices, bespoke modals, and more.
It’s a solution for optimizing page elements within WordPress, with live results to support data-driven decisions that improve conversions.
You know what’s great? The Kadence theme. It’s like a toolbox for managing websites – it keeps adding new features and plugins to make things easier for you. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out on some cool stuff. Here’s the deal – I’ve used it for a while, and I often give my newsletter subscribers behind-the-scenes info and special articles.
