My web design process begins with a simple question: how does an idea become a website that truly feels like you? I combine strategy, creativity, and empathy to turn your vision into a digital space that welcomes people in and says, you belong here. To me, websites are living experiences — not just lines of code. This is my personal and humble approach to design: not a universal method or technical formula, but a reflection of my own experience and perspective.
Phase 0: Your web design process starts with a ‘hello’
It begins when you reach out — maybe via referral, a late-night scroll, or a quick Google search. However you found me, welcome.
I take on only one or two projects per month. Your project receives focus, care, and craftsmanship. With this limited capacity, I dedicate more time to ensuring faster turnaround and deeper discovery. When you book with me, you’re not a number; you’re a collaborator in the story we’ll write together.
Phase 1: Moodboards as the heart of my website design process
As part of my web design process, this stage is about inspiration — the moment we gather the colors, textures, and emotions that make your brand truly yours. I start by creating a moodboard: a visual wardrobe filled with images, fonts, and styles that capture the essence of your project.
Think of it like curating your brand’s outfit — not just something beautiful to wear, but something that feels authentic and expresses who you are. Minimalism with warmth? Elegance with playfulness? Every choice tells a story.
By aligning the moodboard with your business goals, we ensure that beauty and strategy work hand in hand, creating a foundation that builds trust, evokes emotion, and sets you apart from the competition.
Phase 2: I define your design DNA in the web design process
Before we dive headfirst into visuals, we pause to create a list of keywords that define your project’s design DNA. Not SEO keywords (though I love those too), but words that guide the creative direction. Words like: calm, trustworthy, refined, bold, intuitive. These words don’t just sit on a page; they actively influence the design decisions that follow. For example, if ‘calm’ is a keyword, we might opt for a minimalist layout with ample white space and a cool color palette. If ‘bold’ is guiding us, we could use vibrant colors and striking typography that catch the eye. These guiding words shape everything from layout hierarchy and micro-copy tone to the navigation flow, translating abstract adjectives into concrete visual and functional elements on your site.
Phase 3: The initial questionnaire is one of my favorite moments
Here comes the fun part: I’ll send you a private questionnaire via Google Form. It’s a cozy conversation with thoughtful questions. Why did you start your practice? What do your clients say? What digital “home” do you dream of?
This is the soul-searching stage, where your answers help me align each design decision with your essence. And don’t worry — there are no wrong answers. Feel free to share as much as you like.
What tools have you used so far, what are your needs, and informal questions that can help me choose the right creative (and technical) direction for your site.
Phase 4: Initial Concepts as the first breath of your project
Now the pencils (okay, the pixels) start moving. I create a set of initial design concepts based on everything we’ve gathered. This is where moodboards, keywords, and your story come together to form tangible possibilities of my web design process.
You’ll see layouts, colors, and typography that reflect your brand. You may feel that moment of recognition — yes, that’s me! That’s how we know we’re on the right path.
Project tracking, task management, and team coordination — all in one place to keep your work clear, organized, and on time.
A custom domain email plus extra Google storage — everything your business needs for added trust, polish, and reliability.
Phase 5: Super-organized step-by-step collaboration thanks to Asana
One of the cornerstones of my design process revolves around the use of Asana, a platform that allows us to collaborate seamlessly, keep everything organized, and ensure that no detail slips through the cracks. From the start, I invite you to sign up for Asana, and I will personally send you an invitation to join the private project for your website using the email address you provided in the initial Google questionnaire. There is absolutely no cost, subscription, or hidden fee required on your end — using Asana is completely free for clients.
In practical terms, Asana allows me to assign tasks, which are clearly defined pieces of work or actions that need to be completed. For example, one task I might assign you could be to write the reviews or testimonials your project needs, specifying the tone, style, or key points you wish to convey. Each task is tracked step by step, making it simple for both of us to see progress, leave comments, and ensure clarity at every stage.
Every web design package I offer starts with three full Revision Rounds, which means you get three edits per round, totaling nine edits, ensuring that the final product truly reflects your vision. This structure enables us to collaborate efficiently, eliminating the chaos of back-and-forth emails and miscommunications. By handling communication in writing, rather than through video calls, we establish a methodical and organized workflow: every step is documented, each request is clear, and nothing is left to chance or memory. Psychologically, this approach reduces stress, keeps priorities visible, and makes the design journey feel like a guided, step-by-step process rather than a chaotic scramble.
This, in fact, is my second favorite step in building a website because it allows me to listen attentively to the client and foster a genuine, concrete collaboration. Using Asana in this way turns the creative process into a partnership, where your input directly shapes the outcome in a structured, stress-free, and highly transparent manner.
Emails get lost, sticky notes fall off, but Asana keeps our collaboration grounded and connected. This way, we refine designs, exchange feedback, and celebrate every milestone together. And yes, I’ll encourage you when decision fatigue strikes (we’re in this as partners).
To make things easier, I provide a short guide for all clients on how to use Asana. This helps you feel comfortable with the platform from the start.
Phase 6: Final deliverables and project handover via Google Drive
After your revision rounds, collaboration, and fine-tuning, we have arrived at the final stage of your web design project journey. This is the moment where everything comes together, where the vision we’ve nurtured transforms into a tangible, polished reality. At this stage, I will deliver your completed website, along with all the accompanying files, assets, and guides that you may need to move forward with confidence.
Rather than a mere file drop, consider this the handover of the keys to a digital home that has been carefully crafted to feel intuitive, functional, and ready to impress your clients. To make this as seamless as possible, I will provide you with a private Google Drive link containing all the deliverable files that can be shared. There’s no need for a Google Workspace subscription; all that’s required is an active, valid Google account. I will send an invitation via email, granting you access to download your project files directly.
Please note that these files will remain available for 30 days only. After this period, they will be permanently removed from my Google account to ensure optimal storage management and to uphold the highest standards of project privacy. This way, every project remains secure, tidy, and accessible only to its rightful owner.
In short, this final step means more than handing off files — it’s about giving you the tools, access, and confidence to take your digital presence to the next level, ready to shine online. While this is an additional step that I am not strictly obliged to provide, I choose to do so to make the process smoother for you. Please note, however, that it is ultimately your responsibility to download the files within 30 days, after which they will be permanently removed.

The final touch: client satisfaction feedback
Once your website is live and fully operational, I would kindly ask you to take a few moments to fill out a short and informal questionnaire, which also serves as a Google review. Your feedback means the world to me — not only does it help me grow and refine my process, but it also allows me, as a solo freelancer, to continue offering a web design experience that truly supports my clients. Every comment, suggestion, or word of encouragement is a small but meaningful way you can help me keep doing what I love (if you’d like, feel free to peek at what others have shared on Google to see how these reviews shape my work).
Beyond that, it’s also an opportunity to showcase your newly launched site — celebrating the effort, care, and creativity poured into it is a win-win for both of us. If you’re skimming, here’s my guiding philosophy: your website should feel effortless — simple, elegant, and refined, with design that whispers rather than shouts: inviting, confident, timeless. That’s why my approach always circles back to minimalism with soul — less clutter, more meaning, and a space where your brand can truly shine.
